Loyalty and Support: Stories of Animal Rescue in Wartime
These stories are about great mutual love and genuine tenderness. Those that can be given to us not only by a close person, but also by a four-legged friend.
Together with us, they shudder from the explosions and rush into the corridor as soon as they hear a suspicious sound. They cover our children with their bodies during shelling, and people cover their ears at the same moments - so that the pet is not so afraid.
We share with them the last piece of bread, and direct all our efforts to their search if they are lost during a military disaster. And we believe that going into the unknown with one backpack and two carriers with a cat, a dog, a turtle and even snails is the only right decision in the circumstances of war.
October 4 is Animal Protection Day. Until this date, the Museum presents a collection about the rescue of animals during the war. And about how they save us - too.
