Within days, the Museum of History of the City of Kyiv will host the VOICES exhibition, which will open the multimedia space of the Museum of Civilian Voices of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation with an art installation from the creators of GOGOLFEST, the creative partner of the exhibition. Why is it worth visiting? There are at least five good reasons to join this event in the nearest future.
- Participating in the event on an all-Ukrainian scale, because the Museum of Civilian Voices is the largest museum in the world and Ukraine, which has collected testimonies of people about their experiences during the russo-Ukrainian war. Its archive contains more than 100,000 life stories. After years of existence in the online space, the Museum opens its physical space in response to the challenge of the times.
- A personal experience that will immerse you in the exposition in depth and volume, involving various senses in a multidimensional multimedia space created by the GOGOLFEST artists. Each visitor of the exhibition will not only become its spectator, but will also participate due to the effect of presence, involvement in a single space created by video, audio, and physical art objects.
- An exclusive opportunity to touch the works of modern Ukrainian musicians and actors. It is a sound installation with a surround five-channel sound, the soundtrack to which was written by composer Yana Shlyabanska, using the real voices of the heroes of the Museum of Civilian Voices. It is a poetic and musical composition from the Dakh-Trio team of actors. It is a unique video compilation of documentary footage, animation, and video art. Only the VOICES exhibition visitors will hear and see them.
- The opportunity to form your own “road map” at the current point in history, to feel the landmarks and find answers to the key questions of today: who am I? who are we? where are we going? how do we not lose hope?
- New impressions and knowledge that the exposition will provide – both through the stories of people and through the discussion of important topics regarding the preservation of national memory, evidence for the future justice, and the truth about the war in Ukraine.
