My mother Valentina Drobot is 90 years old. She lived in her house, near which the shell exploded. The house was damaged, windows were blown out, the roof collapsed-part of it fell directly on my mother while she was sleeping on the couch.
After the stress, my mother didn't speak for several days, lost her memory, can't remember how she got here, to me. She doesn't even remember what happened.
My house is also damaged, it is very damp, there was no gas all winter. My mother and I live in a room near the kitchen, warming ourselves from the stove. My mother does not walk, her feet are covered with terrible sores.
My mother knows what war is like like no one else – during World war II, she spent about two years in a German concentration camp. Throughout her life, she tried to forget about it.
