Serhiy is from Zabuiannia, a village near Makarove. He tells how he joined the territorial defence unit from the first day of the invasion. His family also stayed in the village. On the day Zabuiannia was first shelled by Russian Grad rockets, Serhiy was driving along a street that came under fire. That's when he got his first concussion.
A journalist himself, he vividly describes how the people who remained in the village fought the fires after the shelling. How they came under repeated shelter. And how Serhiy was again injured by repeated artillery fire.
The journalist also describes how he fought under fire to bring light to the village for a short time. And how, using his radio skills, he found opportunities to receive signals from the outside world in Zabuiannia, which was cut off from communication.
