Kyrylo and his family lived in the basement for 4 months! The intensity of the shelling was so intense that they sometimes did not leave the shelter for days. Kyrylo Hariaha was born in Donetsk region, but at the beginning of the war in 2014, the family moved to Izium, Kharkiv region. It was there that they met the full-scale invasion. After a few months of occupation, the Russians took Kyrylo and other children from Izium and deported them to the territory of the Russian Federation, to a camp. They did not return them to their parents for a long time. But later Kyrylo was able to return.
The boy told his war story during a holiday that has been organised by Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for several years in a row. The programme of the charity organisation provides recreation and rehabilitation for children affected by the war.
