The rocket exploded a few metres away from Svitlana. But that was not the worst thing for her in March 2022. Her son was defending Mariupol. When she lost contact with him, Svitlana thought of nothing else. Later, her son was listed as one of the dead, but hope lived in her heart, and later she learned that her boy was in captivity. Through a lawyer, he told her about the abuse of prisoners of war and inhumane executions. Now Svitlana will live with this terrible knowledge and hope that she will be able to bring her son back from captivity.
