The story of the two Mariupol sisters, Nadezhda (Hope) and Lyubov (Charity), clearly lacks the third name – Vera (Faith). It was the faith that her sister, who had received a shrapnel wound, was alive that forced Nadezhda to leave the basement where she stayed with other people for exactly a month. She set out across the city covered in smoke, searching for her close person. Amid the dim glow of candles, she walked among the wounded and called out her sister’s name. And a miracle happened! This is the story of the ginger tabby cat Venia, the triplets in the basement, and tremendous courage.
