On 13 January 2015, a Ukrainian military checkpoint was shelled near the village of Buhas, in the south, near the town of Volnovakha.
The attack was initiated using the Grad system, and passenger buses were at the checkpoint at this time there. My father and I were in one of them.
I was shot in the shoulder and arm. I still fragmentation in my body. Having heard whistling and explosions, my dad and I crouched down at once, and my dad bent me even lower. The bus was shaking so much, glass shards were everywhere, although everything happened just in one second. My father was injured and died in intensive care...
I still blame myself for not paying attention to the terrible sign that day. In the morning, when we were about to go, I broke the loop of my cross, so I left it at home. I should have paid attention to this, but I remembered about this in 40 days.
I had nightmares for months. Even when I wasn't sleeping, I closed my eyes and imagined like I was on that bus.
