Our temporary housing became permanent when we left Donetsk and settled in Mariupol.
In Donetsk, we lived in a house near the railway station, but in 2014 we had to leave. We settled in a dormitory in Mariupol. I did major repairs of the house by myself for six months: I replaced the plumbing and did the flooring. We completely remodelled everything. We wanted to have a piece of home here.
But housing off-the-grid is not the only test for us. Granddaughter, Anzhelika, had a virus infection and has been suffering from asthma ever since the armed hostilities began.
Thus, she studies at home in order not to catch another disease. She constantly takes medications that are not available in Mariupol, and we do not receive them under the state program. The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation provides us with the medications.
