Karina has heard explosions in her hometown since the first days of Russia's offensive in Ukraine. Then panic gripped Kherson. For some time, Karina and her family hid in a bomb shelter in the Mykola Kulish Theatre in Kherson. She was there when the Russian military surrounded the theatre and tried to find weapons. Karina realised that she had become a hostage when she came out of the shelter and finally met her family.
