In Cherkasy, in the heart of Ukraine, the “I Am Mariupol” center has become a real oasis for internally displaced people, especially for children who have survived the horrors of war. The head of the center, Kateryna Aksenko, talks about the importance of this initiative and how such a center helps families adapt to new living conditions. Kateryna notes that in 2024, unfortunately, they are once again noticing the migration of Mariupol families moving from the eastern regions to regions far from the frontline. The “I Am Mariupol” center is also implementing the “Mariupol Nearby” project, which involves visits to remote communities. This allows us to reach more families. The Humanitarian Hub is supported by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. Every year, on New Year’s holidays, it gives children entertainment shows and sweet presents.
