Maksym Ostapenko was the head of the Khortytsia National Reserve, and it was there that he met a full-scale invasion. His main task was to preserve the unique exhibits of the reserve for Ukraine. Despite great difficulties, he managed to cope with the evacuation with heroic efforts. Maksym spent 14 months in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Now he is the head of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve and is doing everything he can to make it a pillar of the Ukrainian nation.
