She lived all her life in Stari Petrivtsi, not far from Kyiv. She worked hard to build a house, grew flowers in her spare time, and then sold them near the metro station. She has been in the flower business since 1966. Grandma Halyna is known to more than one generation of Kyiv residents. In the summer of 2023, during the shelling of the Kyiv region, a part of a rocket fell on Halyna Misiak's house in Stari Petrivtsi. The house is beyond repair, and the 85-year-old florist suffered a severe head injury. The woman told Inter TV journalists how she is surviving now.
