“We carried bedridden people and children down to the basement. We arranged a toilet there as well, so no one had to go outside. Our house was hit by a bomb on March 6. The apartment was on the first floor. At first, it was dead silence and a whistling noise in the distance. I shouted, “Everybody, drop down to the floor!” I was buried under pieces of concrete and things that were in the room. A bomb fell on the children’s playground. I sank into the depth of despair,” says Olena from Mariupol.
