Oleksandr’s family heard the explosions in the Akademgorodok district in Kyiv at about five in the morning. The children were frightened and did not know what to do, but later the head of the family sent his wife and two daughters to a safe place - to the gym in the basement of the Academy shopping center - and he went to help refugees from Bucha and Irpin. Together with other volunteers, they prepared and delivered food, medicine, diapers and other essential goods to the checkpoints.
