Diana, from Kherson, learned about the outbreak of war from a call from a friend. Almost immediately, the russians started bombing Chornobai airport. She could see the smoke rising through the window. With tears in her eyes, Diana recalls the tragedy that took place in Buzkovyi Park, when the occupiers shot the guys from the Kherson Territorial Defence Forces with heavy machinery. Together with her family, the girl was under occupation for 9 months and waited for the liberation of her hometown. Before leaving, the russians cut off all communication, electricity and water.

Diana remembers going to the city centre, how she could not get enough of freedom. She also told us how many people were abducted, killed, and tortured during the occupation. Since its liberation, Kherson has been under almost daily russian shelling.
