A terrible story happened in the Huzenko family. In September 2024, Vitalii and his wife came under Russian fire in Kramatorsk. The man recalls that the first hits did not touch anyone, but caused a fire. But when he ran to help the neighbours, there was a second attack. The shell exploded right over the couple. The woman was killed immediately. Vitalii was wounded by numerous shrapnel fragments. 

When the military came to the rescue, Vitalii's first request was to help his spouse. But the soldiers told him the terrible news - his wife did not survive. That year they were supposed to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary…

Vitalii was literally saved from death several times, and the man still remembers the doctors warmly. He also thanks the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, which has joined the treatment and is doing everything possible to ensure that the man's torn hand can work again.

Vitalii stayed in Kramatorsk with his 17-year-old son, who is his main motivation.
