Guido Heisig, a German artist and pilot, has been living and working in Ukraine for over 12 years. He created the "Silent Heroes” art book, which tells the stories of ordinary Ukrainians whose destinies were radically changed by the war. This book serves as a kind of diary of war events, combining illustrations, texts, and real human experiences.
The artist admits that while working on the artbook, he felt a great responsibility for every word and every drawing. The book’s design not only conveys the stories, but also deepens the perception of the topic through unique design solutions, including bullet-riddled pages that symbolize the horrors of war. The first hero of the book was a doctor, to whom Guido gave the necessary tools. The artbook has a special mission in a world that is increasingly accustomed to news about war.
