Iryna remembers the morning of February 24, 2022, when her family woke up to explosions. The military base in Brovary was attacked, and although it was relatively far away, the sound was clear and creepy. Later, Iryna’s village was occupied. Destroyed houses, fear, and constant explosions became a part of life. The occupiers fired machine guns in the streets, destroying buildings just for fun. Her house was not damaged as much, but the parallel street was completely destroyed by shelling. It was especially difficult to learn about the targeted destruction of the homes of families where the members of those families were the military personnel or police officers. On March 13, Iryna’s family used the "green corridor" and evacuated.
