Tetiana remembers February 24, 2022, in detail, as well as the names of the dead who had to be buried on a football field. “The first convoy of tanks”, the woman recalls, “drove not only through the streets of Mariupol, it drove through my soul”.
People were dying almost every day, and the shelling from the sea, air and land did not stop. Despite the danger, contusion and trauma, the woman never stopped her work – she helped with evacuations, delivered aid, collected water under fire, supported people and held on to hope that it had to end.
Now Tetiana is confident that she can tell any Mariupol resident from the crowd. The people who went through that hell are now her family. And Tetiana continues to take care of this family by working in the Kyiv dormitory of the YaMariupol Support Centre.
