As a teacher, Mariana prepared her children for possible emergencies, taught them how to go down to the bomb shelter. However, deep down, she could not imagine that war would come. Mariana was especially proud of her brother, a medic by training, who joined the Azov regiment at the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion. Mariana's brother performed dangerous tasks on the front line and received awards for bravery. However, on one of the missions, he was seriously wounded and lost both legs. Despite the ordeal, he showed incredible strength of spirit. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation in the United States. Mariana dreams that her brother will find his happiness and be able to create his own family.
