On April 28, 2023, russia launched a missile attack on Uman, Cherkasy region. One of the rockets hit a high-rise building. Then 23 people died, including 6 children.

Alisa Horidko's family lived in that same building. That night, the girl's mother sent Alisa and her younger brother to spend the night in the hallway, as far away from the windows as possible. This saved them from injuries. A powerful explosion destroyed dozens of apartments. Alisa and her family barely managed to get out. Everything around was on fire.

A few hours after the rocket attack, Alisa found out that her friend Sofiia was under the rubble. The girl lived on the eighth floor. Unfortunately, the miracle did not happen. 11-year-old Sofiia died together with her older brother, only her parents and younger brother survived. The family moved to Uman from Luhansk region.

Families who lost their homes that day were given temporary shelter. Alisa still works with psychologists. Despite what she has experienced, she maintains her fortitude, dreams of testifying in court to punish those responsible for that night's shelling of Uman.
