Since the first days of the war, people from the villages under fire and the city's districts have been coming to the Rishelievskyi Hotel in the centre of Kherson. Some simply had no home anymore, others had their homes on the front line or under massive shelling. Anastasiia Rybalchenko met and resettled people who had escaped from the hell. Everyone had to be calmed down, dressed, fed and just listened to patiently... At the same time, we had to endure repeated visits from the FSB and the Russian military. Each such visit could result in the detention of any of the staff or internally displaced people.
Anastasiia and her husband survived all the months of occupation literally at their workplace. After the liberation of Kherson, despite the daily shelling of the city, they did not leave their post.
