For Oksana from Nova Kakhovka, everything changed dramatically on February 24, 2022, when Russia's full-scale invasion began. When Russian troops entered her hometown, life turned into a nightmare. Oksana recalls how the locals were afraid to leave their homes because the streets were filled with occupiers who were setting their own rules. The woman watched as Russian soldiers conducted searches and set up checkpoints at every turn. It was perhaps the most difficult decision to leave Nova Kakhovka. And it was not so easy to leave. All the roads were under the control of the occupiers, and each departure could be the last.
